STRATA EDUCATION & ADVOCACY

Membership Services Agreement

Purpose

Strata Education & Advocacy ("Strata") provides membership-based educational, transition, and social support services for neurodivergent teens and young adults. Memberships provide access to related individual and group sessions.

Membership is intended to provide flexibility while encouraging consistent participation that supports skill development and meaningful progress.

MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE

Members purchase a package of individual and/or group session hours to be used during a twelve (12) week membership period.

Members may begin services at any time by selecting their preferred membership start date.

Services cannot begin until:

  • membership payment has been received in full (or the first payment of an approved payment plan has been received)

  • required intake paperwork has been completed

  • the participant has completed the required new client intake meeting

MEMBERSHIP TERM

Each membership remains active for twelve (12) weeks.

Weeks during which Strata is closed for holidays, staff training, or scheduled organizational breaks do not count toward the twelve-week membership period.

Scheduled closure dates are:

  • published on the Strata website

  • added to a shared member calendar

Membership end dates will automatically extend to account for days or closure weeks.

SESSION HOURS

Memberships include a specific number of group and/or individual session hours.

Unused session hours:

  • do not roll over

  • have no cash value

  • expire at the end of the membership period

Members are encouraged to attend sessions consistently throughout their membership.

Because session availability varies, Strata recommends using an average number of hours each week rather than attempting to schedule large numbers of hours near the end of the membership.

ATTENDANCE

Session hours are deducted only when a participant attends a scheduled session.

Members are encouraged to notify Strata as soon as possible if they cannot attend a recurring scheduled session.

SESSION SCHEDULING

Individual Sessions

Individual sessions:

  • require at least 24 hours' notice for scheduling

  • are subject to staff availability

Members may:

  • schedule sessions as needed

  • reserve recurring weekly appointment times when available

Recurring appointments are recommended for members who require consistent scheduling.

Group Sessions

Group sessions:

  • require 24-hour advance registration

  • have maximum participant capacities

  • are available on a first-registered basis

  • may require a prerequisite to join (e.g., internship training)

Members may:

  • register individually for available sessions each week

  • reserve recurring participation in ongoing groups when space permits

Because group sizes are intentionally limited, availability cannot be guaranteed.

WEEKLY PARTICIPATION LIMITS

Members may combine purchased membership packages up to:

  • current number of weekly group hours per week (17)

  • 4 hours of individual services per week

SESSION AVAILABILITY

Membership provides access to available services but does not guarantee that members can schedule every purchased hour.

Availability depends on:

  • staff schedule

  • group capacity

  • program offerings

  • demand from other members

For this reason, members are strongly encouraged to participate consistently throughout their membership rather than waiting until later weeks to schedule remaining hours.

GROUP PARTICIPATION EXPECTATIONS

Group services are designed for participants who can safely and successfully engage within a group learning environment. Strata will make reasonable accommodations and encourage discussion of support needs before services begin.

Participants should generally be able to:

  • remain regulated in a variety of settings

  • participate alongside a variety of peers

  • engage with reasonable independence in group activities

Strata group memberships do not provide:

  • one-to-one behavioral support

  • crisis intervention

  • continuous individual support during group sessions

If a participant is not yet ready for group participation, staff may recommend beginning with individual membership services to develop the regulation, communication, and self-advocacy skills needed for successful group participation.

Aggressive physical or verbal behavior, threats, destruction of property, possession of weapons or illegal substances may result in immediate removal from the session and/or cancellation of membership services.

Recommendations regarding readiness for group participation are made in the interest of participant success and the well-being of the group.

PAYMENT

  • Membership fees are due before services begin.

  • Membership pricing varies by package.

  • Packages offering more hours receive a lower hourly rate.

  • Current pricing is published on the Strata website. Pricing changes will not affect active memberships.

REFUND POLICY

Membership payments are non-refundable once the membership period has begun, except as described below.

Paid-in-Full Memberships

Members who choose not to attend scheduled services or who do not use all purchased session hours are not eligible for refunds or credits.

Unused hours expire at the conclusion of the membership period.

At Strata’s discretion, memberships may be paused for hospitalization, extended illness, or family emergencies.

Strata Cancellation

Strata reserves the right to terminate a participant membership at any time. In the case that Strata determines a participant is no longer eligible for group or individual membership, Strata will refund:

  • pro-rated balance of package cost for unused sessions

Administrative fees or outside funding, such as scholarship or grant allocations associated with package cost, may affect the final refund calculation.

COMMUNICATION

Membership communications may occur through:

  • email, text message, or phone call

  • the shared member calendar and website

  • individual shared session documentation

Members are responsible for reviewing communications regarding scheduling changes, closures, session summary documentation, and program updates.

CHANGES TO SERVICES

Strata reserves the right to:

  • adjust group offerings

  • revise programming

  • end a session early or recommend a different service if a participant's behavior poses a safety concern

  • cancel sessions when necessary due to severe weather, public health emergencies, or other circumstances beyond Strata's control

Whenever possible, reasonable notice will be provided.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Members and caregivers agree to:

  • maintain accurate contact information.

  • review the shared member calendar regularly.

  • communicate schedule changes promptly.

  • arrive on time for scheduled services.

  • ensure the participant does not attend sessions if sick, injured, or otherwise unable to participate safely.

  • review and abide by membership agreement, liability, and waiver forms.

Members and caregivers are responsible for attending sessions in appropriate clothing for the weather and activity. Closed-toed shoes are required for all community-based sessions.

Food, water bottles, drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, and other personal care items are not included in the membership cost and must be provided by the participant or caregiver.
Access to a microwave, refrigeration, hot water, or stove top may not be guaranteed during session times. Cold sack or bag lunches and snacks are recommended for all sessions.

Members may store food, drink, medication, change of clothing, session materials, or other personal items at Strata for individual use during sessions.

Strata staff maintain CPR and basic first aid certification. Medication administration, medical devices, or other medical procedures must be independently administered or maintained by the participant.

MEMBER AGREEMENT

Enrollment in a Strata membership indicates that the participant and/or caregiver understands and agrees to abide by the policies outlined in this agreement. These policies are intended to support fair scheduling practices, equitable access for all members, and the highest quality educational experience.
